It might just be fate when a guy lives in New Orleans for five years, then moves 1,300 miles away and finds a girl from Louisiana! Such is the story of Dan and Brandi, who both worked for the New Orleans Hornets, but several years apart, and eventually met in New Jersey through mutual friends! It only makes sense that their New Orleans connection would bring them back to tie the knot. And so on an incredibly beautiful day in October, they, along with their fabulously fun-loving crew took over the Columns Hotel for one heck of a celebration. The ceremony took place right on the steps of the antique mansion on beautiful, tree-lined St. Charles Avenue. Throughout the ceremony the low rumble of streetcars groaned along the neutral ground, as if to remind all who would listen, yes, you are in New Orleans, while remnants of Mardi Gras beads could still be seen draping from the power lines.
After the exchange of their own heartfelt vows, the wedding party ventured out to the neutral ground for portraits, hoping to catch a streetcar in the background. Not only did one come by, but the streetcar driver exerted her southern hospitality and invited the newlyweds onto the streetcar for a wedding picture they will treasure for years to come!
As most New Orleans celebrations go, there was lots of great food, accompanied by great music and dancing. And to finish the night, a traditional New Orleans second line lead the entire gang down the Avenue from one New Orleans, icon to the next, a party at Fat Harry’s. All our best to the new McBrides! Many years of happiness to you both!
