They say that all good things must come to an end … so sad, but true.  In this case, it’s a really good thing that is coming to an end … the Nobles are calling it quits after 53 years.  One of my friends told me fondly that the Nobles were playing on the night she met her husband.  There are, no doubt, countless tales of where the Nobles fit into so many chapters of so many lives in New Orleans.  You can touch a lot of lives in 53 years.  It should be one heck of a shindig on Saturday, as friends gather once more to say farewell to one New Orleans institution, at another institution, Rock N’ Bowl.  In addition to the Nobles, there will also be a performance by the 6-10 Stompers, and New Orleans artist, Frenchy!  Hope to see ya there!
