On any given day, New Orleans can be such a fun and romantic place for a small intimate wedding. When New Orleans gets all dressed up for Christmas, the fun, festive feeling of a such an event just intensifies! We got to show off the city in all it’s Christmas finery in early December to Lark and Jody, who chose it as the backdrop for their elopement. What a perfect place for this vibrant, fun loving pair! With him being a musician and her a writer of steampunk vampire novels, New Orleans is the perfect blend of all things near and dear to them.
The day started where the couple was staying, at Ashton’s Bed & Breakfast on Esplanade. We could have stayed and explore the magic there all day, but there was so much more of the city to check out. We hopped in pedicabs to cover the most ground, save our feet, and well … just because it’s a really fun way to make your way around New Orleans! Next, we roamed the city and stopped for photos at Armstrong Park, Preservation Hall, Jackson Square and some other spots that were just plain colorful! After several hours of wandering, we finally made our way over to House of Broel, where the actual wedding took place. The ceremony took place in the parlor of the beautiful Victorian Mansion, officiated by Ms. Bonnie Broel. After cake and champagne, we sent the newlyweds on their way with warm wishes for a happy holiday season and a long and happy marriage! Congratulations again, Lark and Jody! Wishing you all the happiness in the world.
