We spent last week in the San Francisco area, visiting my newly engaged son, vacationing and doing a destination shoot. Of course while we are in that area, a visit to Napa Valley is a must! While in Napa, we decided to drive up to Healdsburg for lunch, and while passing through Calistoga I spied these trees. “Stop the car!”, I yelled emphatically, “I’ve got to go see these”. Of course I immediately recognized them as public art statements, similar to “wish trees” that some people do at weddings. I couldn’t wait to see what gems were hanging on those trees.
Many of the statements were becoming faded and difficult to read, but I sifted through and found a few poignant messages of gratitude and beautiful expressions of happiness. I noted that the “Past Loves” tree was the most populated and bore this ode to past loves that just made me laugh out loud (I censored it for the easily offended)! Of course, I had to add my own little bit of happiness to the project 🙂 Wish I could have stayed longer, but lunch and wine time were calling!
