What exactly is a Contemporary Glamour session?

Contemporary Glamour is a session focused on photographing women in the most flattering way possible so that they can realize the beauty that lives within each and every one of them. The session consists of the entire glamour experience of having a professional hair and makeup beauty makeover followed by a fashion-style photo shoot.

Why do you refer to it as "Blush"?

I created a separate brand for Glamour portraiture because it is different from our usual photography work. Blush is more than just having your photo taken, it is an entire experience from makeup, to photoshoot to the excitement of coming in for your print reveal. Blush is a softer shade of red, and I wanted to emphasize the celebration of beauty and femininity with this line of portraiture.

Do I have to come in for a consultation?

Yes, before booking a glamour session, we require either an in-person or online complimentary consultation. At the consult, we will discuss how you want to be photographed, and will discuss the details of your hair, makeup and wardrobe.

When do I pay my session fee?

At the time of booking, you will be invoiced $225 for your session fee. This fee covers the cost of your makeover, plus the time and talent of the photographer. This is a non-refundable fee. Rescheduling may be done with at least 48 hours notice. Changes within 48 hours, or no-shows result in forfeiture of your session fee.

Where do the sessions take place?

All glamour shoots will take place in our studio, located at 3422 49th Street in Metairie.

How long will the session take?

A big part of the glamour experience is the fun of having a pampering makeover, so be sure to allow adequate time. Hair and makeup will be done before the shoot, and will take about 1 to 1 ½ hours. The session usually takes about 1 ½ to 2 hours to shoot. Since we use natural light for these sessions, we prefer to begin makeup by 9 a.m. and begin shooting by 10 a.m.

Be sure to book a night out afterward, because you will look and feel gorgeous!

What do I wear? Can I change outfits?

You should bring at least 5 outfits that make you feel amazing! You can find outfit inspiration HERE. Choose colors that are flattering to you, in either solids, or small patterns that are not overpowering. You will look best in photographs if your clothing is fitted to your body. Loose, baggy or blousy items should be avoided. Be sure to bring coordinating accessories, such as necklaces and earrings for your chosen outfits. Shoes, for the most part are not necessary, but are, of course, welcome.

I have some skirts and dresses that you are welcome to borrow if you desire.

For the best result, be sure to work a fresh mani/pedi, having your eyebrows shaped and having your roots touched up into your schedule before your shoot.

Can I bring a friend or is the session for only me?

Yes, the glamour photography experience is really fun when booked as a shared experience with a friend or even your mom. It is also a perfect way to spend the perfect mother/daughter day, and to get multi-generational images that will become a lasting legacy. Additional hair and makeup fees apply.

How long till I see my images?

Your images will be ready to be revealed in about 2 weeks from your session; we will book a time for your reveal at the time we book your session. You will come to my studio, 3422 49th Street, Metairie, for your image reveal.

What happens at the reveal?

You will come in to view the prints that we have prepared from your session. You will be able to see and touch the matted prints, and choose which ones you would like to purchase.

But I only want the digital images

We believe that the glamour experience is not complete until you are holding beautiful, heirloom quality prints of your session in your hands. Because we know that our clients love to share their beautiful images, a digital copy of every print you purchase is automatically included and is reflected in the pricing.
