Moms want nothing more than to see their children happy.  When I got to view that happiness through the lens of my camera … well it was enough to just make my heart nearly explode from joy!  Meet my very own baby boy, Jared and his beautiful fiancee, Rachel!  I recently had the honor of photographing their engagement photos.  They really struggled with the idea of engagement photos.  The idea of traditional engagement photos, of putting on fancy dresses and striking romantic poses just did not feel like their cup of tea.  “No problem,” I told them!  “We’ll just capture you at home, being who you are!”  And that is exactly what we did.  I met them at their apartment in the Irish Channel of New Orleans and there I found Jared and Rachel … being themselves, i.e., cat lovers, coffee aficionados, succulent growers, musicians,  scooter riders and all around beautiful souls who are absolutely crazy about one another.  And seeing that kind of happiness makes me very, very happy!
