All day yesterday my news feed rolled with them … photos of your mom, photos of you with your mom, photos of mom with her family. They were all beautiful and touching. Some of them were recent photos, some of them were really old, some were from special events in your life that you shared with your mom, like a wedding. Some were great photos, some could have used a little help, but every single one of them was precious to you. They were all about sharing a memory of a special person. Are you listening mom? Get in photographs with your children … exist in photographs with your children. So many times women are behind the camera and never get in the photo. Or worse yet, they say “I don’t like the way I look in photos” and they fail to get in. I hear it all the time … “I’ll have photos taken when I lose weight”, “Oh, I have too many wrinkles” … or whatever insecurities they are feeling. Ladies, your children love you for who you are … I promise! Not once in my news feed yesterday did I see a photo accompanied by “This is my mom that I love so much, and I’d love her even more if she was 10 lbs. lighter!” You are what matters most to your children, I promise!
By the way, this is a photo of my beautiful mother-in-law (The first Mrs. Sabrier) surrounded by her family. She fussed a little over having the photo made … she said I was a pain in the XXX … but to have captured that smile that lights up the room and everyone else in it was worth it!
