Blog Circle – Love is …

So I posted last month that I’m participating in this blog circle with some really great photographers that I met at WPPIU (more on that here).  Being February, this month’s theme, without much thought, was love!  February screams love, right? … hearts and flowers everywhere!  Wait, you don’t really want me to show you hearts and flowers, do you? Hasn’t Hallmark done enough of that for you???  So its the night before Valentine’s day, and I knew this post assignment was looming and I had one of the cutest couples I know sitting around my dining room table … that would be my son Jared and his girlfriend, Brie. Great, I thought … I’ll bring them into the studio, do a couple of cute poses and I’ve got my “Love” post in the bag.  I sit these two down and ask one question … “So how’d you meet?”  and the magic explodes!  I asked nothing else, and I didn’t pose them.  I watched these two animate the most adorable story …  they met at the Circle Bar, where their friends Alexis and the Samuri were playing.  They didn’t really like one another right off the bat!  They started talking …. you know, that weird awkward conversation that you have when you first meet.  “I see you wear Tom’s … they have that one for one program, right?” … “Right” … “So if someone returns a pair of shoes, do they take a pair away from a kid?”  What kind of guy would ask a question like that?? And so the conversation went ….Love in New Orleans 3

She agreed to go out with him … why drag things out … they met for breakfast the next morning!  Having been out quite late the night before, she admits that she might not have been as jovial as a girl should be on a first date.  “Show him your worst from the beginning, and it only gets better from there.”   I believe that outing may have earned her a reputation for being a little, err, “moody”, the story goes.  Which is why the first Christmas they were together he gave her a mood ring.  And it is engraved on the back with “Circles” … to represent the relationship that began at the Circle Bar, and a love that now remains constant, like a circle.
