So this is what it looks like when a photo shoot turns into forever! Never intended to be an engagement shoot, but just a session for us to get some practice on same sex posing while my adorable nephew, Daniel and his equally adorable partner Joseph were in town for a family wedding, Steve and I got a feeling while we were shooting that this might just turn into something. You kind of get a feeling about couples after you’ve shot enough, and you recognize genuine affection and amazing connection when you see it. We kind of half expected that a proposal might actually happen right in front of our lens, but it actually took about 2 months after the shoot for us to get the exciting news that they were now engaged! We were overjoyed and delighted to not only hear the news, but to have already taken care of the engagement photos for them! And when we read their telling of the story in Joseph’s own words, it confirmed that what we observed on that beautiful day in October was dead on correct …
“There was a quiet moment in the French Quarter the day this picture was taken when we both began to secretly imagine forever ….. Not intending it to be an engagement photo, we became almost telepathically aware that we shared the hope and dream of building a life together. And when he asked “So….do you want to marry me,” I easily and joyfully said yes. Forever is a beautiful thing, isn’t it?”
Yes, indeed guys … forever is a beautiful thing. Your love for one another radiates and inspires all who are lucky enough to be near you. Congratulations on your engagement!!!
