We first met the Nelsons in 2013, when we photographed their wedding. Since that time, we have had the wonderful privilege of photographing their beautiful family three additional times. It is truly an honor and privilege when a family continues to place their trust in us time and again to document their family. It is even a bigger honor when the Dad is a photographer himself! When we first started photographing their family, their little one was just learning to walk and she zoomed so much I would call her “the blur”! We are happy to say that the blur has slowed down and is even happy to give us a few smiles these days!! We are pretty much in love with this session, as it is a bit of a departure from the light we usually expect on a morning park session. The session was scheduled for a time when New Orleans was being inundated with a succession of super rainy days. In order to beat the rain, we moved the session up a day and shot immediately after sunrise. Given the rainy atmosphere, when we arrived it was still rather foggy, which lends a beautiful, ethereal quality to the images. That, in conjunction with the family’s choice of color pallette, looking at the sessions reminds me of a Monet painting.
The final image is a three generation shot that we were delighted to capture for the second time for this family! What a wonderful tradition to recreate the same image time and again, to really capture the changes in your family over time.
