Photographers Once again Fight Hunger With Their Cameras

Metairie, LA – With the recent flooding events in south Louisiana, supporting local food banks such as Second Harvest Food Bank of New Orleans and Acadiana is more important than ever. Local photographers Marianne and Steve Sabrier of The Red M Studio are using their cameras to do just that when they offer free commemorative photos at the St. Martin’s Episcopal Church Pumpkin Patch, on Friday and Sunday, October 21 and 23.   poster2016_400x598To participate is free, however, the Sabriers are encouraging participants to make either a monetary or non-perishable food donation to Second Harvest Food Bank. The photographers will be on hand for photographs on Friday 3:00-6:00 pm and on Sunday, from 11:00 am-4:00 pm at St. Martin’s Pumpkin Patch at 2216 Metairie Road. The participants’ photos will be inset into a Halloween themed template and delivered via email.

For the fourth year in a row, the photographers will be offering the photos in the pumpkin patch. “We love seeing the same families come back year after year, making this an annual event,” stated Marianne Sabrier. “And even better, we love that those families’ donations are supporting a cause that is near and dear to our hearts! Last year, our efforts working with St. Martin’s at this event resulted in donations in excess of $350, which provided over 1,000 meals to the community. Our goal this year is help them raise enough funds and non-perishable food to provide in excess of 1,500 meals.”

Eliminating hunger has become one of the Sabriers’ annual pro bono projects. “In a city where food has celebrity status, we just cannot bear the thought of families going without their basic food needs being met. This event allows us to do what we love while helping to eliminate hunger in our community.” said Steve Sabrier.
